FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost to remove a safe UK?
The price can vary greatly depending on the size of the safe and the difficulty of the job however a starting price would be £250.
How do you get rid of a big safe?
Always call a safe moving expert. Removing big safes can be very dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. Safes also need to be disposed of in a responsible way Scrap yards will not usually accept safes as scrap because they are mainly made up of concrete.
Can I move my safe?
The make and model of your safe will determine how big or heavy it is. Some safes are not necessarily heavy and can be moved by the owner.
How heavy should a safe be?
Safe weight is determined by the way it is made. The higher the grade of the safe, generally the more robust it will be therefore made from heavier materials with thicker walls and doors.
Where is the best place to put a safe in your house?
It’s best to position your safe somewhere relatively hidden and not on show. Ideally, the safe should be fixed to a concrete floor however we are also able to fix to wooden floors and floors with underfloor heating.
Are old safes better than new ones?
No, all safes have their place on the AIS insurers list. Two safes of the same grade provide the same amount of cover, although new safes tend to be available in more sizes and are usually much lighter in construction. Older safes are much heavier in construction and harder to move.
How do you hide your home safe?
Ideally, your safe should be hidden from sight. In a garage, under stairs cupboard, or in wardrobes etc…
